Running With Scissors, creators of the legendary POSTAL video game series, has announced its sponsorship of Olga Pak’s competitive gaming team. The all-female, Russian-based clan that Pak founded in 2003 recently made it all the way to the Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) finals in San Jose, CA. The finals involve teams from 50 different countries in several game categories and as part of the sponsorship the Russian girls are wearing the logo for next year’s POSTAL III on their t-shirts, trunks and jackets.
“Hot Russian girl gamers,” remarked RWS Czar Vince Desi, “how can you go wrong? It will be a pleasure to see our logo on their asses.”

On his trip to Israel, Mike Jaret was interviewed by a local video game website where he discussed our recently released free Postal 2: Share The Pain multiplayer download and answers questions regarding the shitty, I mean excellent director Uwe Boll, he also reveals exclusive information regarding Postal 3 and the Postal movie.

Fans of violent video games and gory movies rejoice! Notorious Russian Director and friend of Akella, Andrey Iskanov has created a Gorehound's wet dream come true! Have you ever heard anybody ask what the goriest movie ever made is? You can now tell them about "Philosophy of a Knife". Be warned though, this is a very rough and vile, yet historically accurate movie that not everyone will be able to handle. If you are up for the challenge and would like to exercise you mind and your stomach, then get your barf bucket ready because you're in for quite a gory shocker! Read my review first and decide for yourself if you are ready to test your limits!

At the Hoboken International Film Festival this year’s surprise success was “Postal,” a zany, scattershot comedy based on the eponymous, long-running video game franchise from Running With Scissors. Nominated in five categories, “Postal” copped the Best Director nod for independent filmmaker Uwe Boll and then walked off with the coveted Best of Festival Award, the latter prize given to the entry determined by the audience as its favorite.

Buffalo.com: "Mr. Desi, your gaming company, Running With Scissors, has confronted and overthrown every threat to your company's existence imaginable: games being pulled from store shelves, lawsuits from the United States Postal Service, Senator Lieberman... are there any major differences you've discovered in being censored from movie theaters, as opposed to being censored in the video game community?"

Vince Desi: "Censorship is evil in any form. While the players may be different, it's all the same, some individuals or parties have a common agenda and any small entity that threatens them will be harmed. Although I do believe that ultimately the love for greed and gain will overcome their pseudo moral positions. It's amazing what people will do for money, especially if they think they can get away with it. Fact is the movie is still playing and will continue to open in more theatres."

VD: We’re Running With Scissors, the developers that first let you shoot innocent people, set them on fire, commit suicide to quit, piss on people, the cat silencer, the boomerang machete, Postal Babes, Champ and Krotchy. I think it's fair to say over the past decade we have shown the world that game development doesn’t have to be boring and repetitive.

CD: What's one bit of information that has not been released about Postal III that you can share with us?

VD: MONKEYS, MONKEYS, MONKEYS!!!

"With the release of "Postal," which makes the early work of John Waters seem like the family classics of Frank Capra, Uwe Boll stakes a strong claim to being the world's most offensive. I mean that in a good way. "Postal" is a foul and horrifying movie, a classic of its kind. I laughed pretty much non-stop, cringing in shame and yet cackling helplessly nevertheless. The Dude finds Dave in bed with three naked women. There follows a bathroom scene that I will not describe. A picture like "Postal" is the reason the midnight-movie circuit was created. "

Film Version of Video Game Opens May 23rd

"As the movie’s scattershot plot rocks along, the audience gets a long full-frontal look at a nude Dave Foley, the boyish comic best known for his work in the Kids in the Hall comedy troupe and on the television show “News Radio,” who portrays a sleazy satyr of a cult leader. By the time the film’s protagonist, played by Zack Ward, uses a cat for a silencer, the boundaries of good taste have been left so far behind that the Hubble Space Telescope couldn’t spot the border signs.
Considering the gross-out and sexual-humor quotient of many recent films, “Postal” could well find an audience. The raucous crowd at a screening presented by the New York City Horror Film Festival last month erupted in laughter for every startlingly transgressive joke. As a couple left the theater, a woman told her date, “It made no sense, but it was hysterical.”

"They don't make 'em like Bill Kunkel anymore. Along with his partners Arnie Katz and Joyce Worley, Kunkel founded Electronic Games magazine in 1981, inventing video game journalism as we know it. Confessions of the Game Doctor traces Kunkel's sometimes-bizarre ride through the video game industry, detailing the slings, arrows, sex, and drugs of outrageous fortune. It's a bit incoherent at times, but this is far from a sanitized boring memoir. The gonzo Kunkel sits back and lets it all fly, detailing cocaine-fuelled writing sessions, public sex, and his involvement in the production of the horrible game based on Batman Returns. As a warts-and-all autobiography, it's unmatched, and provides readers with an invaluable snapshot of video games' crazy early days."

The Postal fans at Metal Coven love the Postal movie, (they've seen it four times already) and they're showing their support for independent filmmaking by standing up against censorship in the cinema, they've created their own online petition and a cool Postal giveaway. The winners of the giveaway will be announced on the Metal Coven website.

UB: It’s hard to get screens because a lot of exhibitors think the movie, Postal, is too politically incorrect. They should book it and leave the decision to the audience.

GVK: Can you explain some of the concerns that have been given as why the film is not getting a major theatrical release; especially with the good word of mouth on the film I find this to be a real surprise.

UB: It’s the exhibitors who are blocking it. If you read this interview go to your theatre and ask if they are going to play “POSTAL” and if the answer is NO; then ask WHY NOT.

Uwe: To show that I'm a little Nazi pervert. I think it was necessary to show that I'm able to laugh about myself, and I think it's important—we work in the entertainment business and we are not making decisions of life and death. We shouldn't take it too seriously.

Violent video games are often blamed for real-world violence, and critics of the industry often cite academic studies to back up their claims. Now, a report presented at the British Psychological Society's Annual Conference in Dublin says violent games may in fact lessen the urge to commit violent acts in the real world.
In a study conducted by Jane Barnett and colleagues at Middlesex University, psychologists found that gamers were more likely to be calm or simply tired after playing, rather than itching to go outside and kick someone's head in.
